The Intracoastal Waterway cuts through Socastee, and the swing bridge on Dick Pond Road still turns for boats. Land near the water sits low, and the area averages about twenty feet above sea level. Back corners of those lots hold water after a hard rain. Brush and vines fill in fast on that kind of ground. A lot can look fine from the street and be a wall of green behind the house.
The T300 runs on tracks, so it spreads its weight better than a wheeled machine. That helps on soft ground, but it does not make a swamp bottom workable. If part of your lot stays under water, we say so and work the dry ground first. The mulcher leaves a layer of chips behind. That layer holds the surface together and keeps the ground from turning to mud while we work.
Much of Socastee is built out already. Subdivisions like Forestbrook and Myrtle Beach Golf and Yacht sit close to parcels that were never developed. That leaves lots with a house on one side and thick woods on the other. Getting a machine in is the first question, and the T300 is compact enough to fit through narrow gaps. We check access before we quote, since a narrow side yard changes the whole plan.
Land clearing in a built-up area is mostly about what leaves the property. Nothing does. The growth gets ground into chips and spread over the same ground it grew on. There are no burn piles smoking over the fence and no dump trucks in and out of the street. When we pull out, the lot is open and covered in mulch. Bush hogging once or twice a year keeps it that way.
